Rally with the North Central Coast Budget Coalition:
When: Tuesday, August 19, at noon.
Where: Jeff Denham's office at 369 South Main Street in Old Town Salinas.

The state budget is over six weeks late this year, and public services are starting to feel the pinch. Why is the budget so late? Because Republicans use the fact that California requires 2/3 of the legislature to vote for a budget to hijack the process, demanding destructive budget cuts that will hurt the most vulnerable Californians, including students, the elderly, and the sick. Senator Jeff Denham is one of these Republicans who is holding out, refusing to agree to a fair compromise Democrats have offered that includes a mixture of cuts and new revenues to balance the budget for the next few years.

It's time Denham heard from his constituents, and let him know that this delay and these demands are unacceptable. Come out and show your support for a fair and balanced budget!

We are calling volunteers to ask them to sign up to help with the fall election.
We have about 2000 calls to make in 10 days.
During our calls we are looking to recruit volunteers in the following areas:
1) Neighbor-to-Neighbor program (neighborhood canvassing for Democratic candidates)
2) Registering Voters (at farmers’ markets, shopping malls, campuses)
4) Phone banking (Calling fellow volunteers and calling swing states for Obama)
3) Staffing Headquarters
