The Democratic Club of the Monterey Peninsula can trace its roots to 1925, when the Democratic Women’s Club became the first Democratic Club west of the Mississippi. In 1995, the Democratic Women’s Club merged with the Peninsula Democratic Club to become the DCMP.

Throughout our history, the DCMP has never wavered from our stated purpose: to encourage the participation of local Democrats in national, state and local political and social issues; to support the candidacies of qualified Democrats for public office; and to provide and support an active organization to work for the nomination and election of Democratic candidates who will advance legislation addressing those political and social issues while respecting human equality and welfare, in harmony with the basic tenets of the Democratic Party.

President's Letter


I am pleased to announce that we have a new headquarters location! The new HQ is located at 60 Bonifacio Plaza, near Rosine's, on the walkway between Alvarado and Calle Principal.

We had a hugely successful grand opening party on Sunday March 9th. Over 100 Democrats came out to celebrate, socialize, and network. We will be open Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 1:00 - 7:00 PM. We will expand our business hours as the year goes on. Please think about how you can utilize your time and talents there, and contact our Retail Manager, Haze Braudrick at 831-333-0101.

Within the next weeks we will begin our annual fund raising and membership drive. The generosity of Monterey Democrats enabled us to secure our new HQ. Your generosity going forward will enable us to keep the phone and lights on. Please consider making a contribution today. The DCMP recognizes that we are asking a lot from Monterey Democrats, in terms of both time and money. But remember, this is the most important election we have seen in decades. It's up to us to help TAKE BACK AMERICA!

Congressman Sam Farr's Birthday Party

The Democratic Club of the Monterey Peninsula is proud to host Congressman Sam Farr's Birthday Party on Saturday, July 3, 2010, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Rancho Canada (4860 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel, CA). The cost for this event is $40.00 per person and includes a full buffet lunch with beverage and desert. A "No Host" wine/beer/mixed drinks bar will also be available.
